Try our new beta features
If you have comments or suggestions about these features, use the feedback button in the search system. Your feedback helps us continuously improve the system.
Upload an image to search for similar marks
Our image search feature allows you to upload an image to search our trademark database for similar marks. The feature works the same as searching by an image on an internet search engine.
To use this new feature:
Log in to your USPTO.gov account.
Select “Image search” from the drop-down menu.
Upload your image.
The results page will show similar trademarks to the image you uploaded.
The AI image search is a supplemental strategy and doesn’t replace a traditional clearance search. Using design search codes may deliver different results than the AI image search, so it's best to use both methods.
See more information when you open a search result
This feature shows more information about a trademark when you open a search result without needing to go to the Trademark Status and Documents (TSDR) system.
To use this feature:
- Complete a trademark search.
- Select a search result.
- The details page will now show most of the information from TSDR without having to leave the search system.
If you’re logged in to your USPTO.gov account, you can choose what information to include on a summary page.
- Use the toggles in the trademark details to choose which sections to show in your summary.
- Select the drop-down arrow next to the Print/Save button and select Case summary.
- This will open a case summary with the information you chose to see. Select Print/Save to print your summary.
While logged in, you can also view the file in TSDR by selecting the View details button from the case summary page.
To stop using the new search feature, return to the results page and toggle the button to the “Off” position.
